Community Revitalization Programme Snapshot | August

Under CRP V IOM is targeting 15 governorates across Iraq, including: Dahuk, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Anbar, Ninewa, Salah al-Din, Kirkuk, Diyala, Baghdad, Babylon, Kerbala, Najaf, Missan, Thi-Qar and Basra.

IOM has exceeded targets, reaching almost 3,000 households across the country (approximately 18,000 individuals), with livelihood assistance. Furthermore, 54 Community Assistance Projects (CAPs) seek to improve the living conditions of more than 90,000 Iraqis through rehabilitation or construction of light infrastructure.

More than 2,700 beneficiaries have already participated in IOM’s enhanced approach to selecting beneficiaries and services. The initial beneficiary interviewing process is complemented with a business development and assessment workshop that aims to target assistance more effectively. This approach has already allowed IOM to more accurately channel beneficiaries to different business sectors or different services altogether, such as job placement instead of small business start-up.
