Global Migration Film Festival
The first Global Migration Film Festival, organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), will take place in Erbil, Iraq. The film festival will open on 5 December (IOM’s 65th anniversary) and culminate on International Migrants Day on 18 December 2016. The festival is organized in partnership with the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Culture and Youth, and Jano’s Cinema Café in Erbil.
The festival will be organized by IOM’s country missions across the world and is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and unique contributions of migrants to the communities and countries where they live. It is also a tribute to the many films that capture the beauty and challenges of migration and bring these realities to audiences around the world. The Film Festival is part of the UN's “Together” global campaign to promote diversity and inclusion.
The movies and documentaries shown during this festival come from all regions of the world, including Iraq.
We look forward seeing you all in Jano’s Cinema café in Erbil!
