Micro-Business Start-ups in Vulnerable Communities

IOM Iraq has been working with unemployed and underemployed people from vulnerable communities since 2007. Although we continuously and systematically review our processes and strategies, this thematic report has allowed us to talk to both ex-beneficiaries and key members of the community to better understand “what factors affect whether IOMs assistance is successful or not.” The results present us with many conclusions we have already began to address, it also sheds some light on areas where we could adapt our programming further. I am glad we have then opportunity to study these factors, create conclusions and suggest recommendations that will improve not just ours but many organizations implementation of business start-ups in the future.
